FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Being Australian Reunites Lost Friends

Sydney: 11 July 2005

Internet website, beingaustralian.com.au, is credited with helping two childhood friends locate each other after 31 years apart.

Warren Allen and Collin Trevena knew each other from their bachelor days. Collin performed at the Blue Fountain Cafe in Fairfield, NSW where Warren was a regular customer.

In time they became friends and Warren even met his wife at Collin's 21st birthday party.

But life and distance intervened and the two friends lost contact with each other after Warren's family moved away to Western Australia.

Years later, Warren was browsing the Being Australian website and noticed his friend's photograph.

Collin described being surprised and delighted when a message arrived from his long lost friend.

Being Australian creator, Doug Kirkpatrick, cites "friend-relocation" as an unplanned side-benefit of the project and says he expects more people will find each other through the website as public participation grows.
