Being Australian Founder Gets Fellowship Gong

Being Australian founder, Doug Kirkpatrick, became a graduate of the Vincent Fairfax Fellowship at an awards dinner in Sydney this evening.
 
Kirkpatrick was among twelve graduates at the black-tie event held at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Circular Quay.
 
Over 170 people attended including officials of St James Ethics Centre and the Vincent Fairfax Family Foundation and members of graduates? families.
 
The 18 month leadership development program helps emerging community leaders and pioneers develop ethical leadership skills.
 
The program includes cross-cultural training in the Northern Territory, a nine-day Katherine Gorge trek, two weeks in remote mining and Aboriginal communities across northern Australia, a visit to Canberra for discussions with senior leaders on policy and governmental issues, a nine-day retreat to study leadership issues and ethical dilemmas, a one-month solo study tour in a South East Asian country to study ethical dilemmas, a week-long conference with regional Asian leaders and on-going personal and professional development that includes one-on-one mentoring from selected leading political, business and community leaders.
 
The fellowship is funded by the Vincent Fairfax Ethics in Leadership Foundation and managed by St James Ethics Centre in Sydney.
 
St James Ethics Centre is an independent, non-profit organisation providing a non-judgemental forum for the promotion and exploration of ethics.
 
The Centre?s mission is to encourage and assist individuals and organisations to include the ethical dimension in their daily lives, and thereby help to create a better world.
 
Kirkpatrick joins 136 other Australians who have completed the Ethics in Leadership Fellowship since its inception in 1994.
