FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASEBeing Australian introduces funky new ruler for Aussie kids
14 April 2010 Can a schoolbag ruler change a child's outlook on life? "Absolutely!", says Being Australian, who today introduced the first in a range of fun and useful learning products for kids. The fun and funky student ruler designed exclusively for Being Australian by Melbourne artist, Tess McCabe, features artwork calling on young people to describe their 'Australian' experiences to other kids using Being Australian's free, fun and family-friendly community website (www.beingaustralian.com.au). Being Australian founder, Doug Kirkpatrick, says the ruler is designed to remind young people that their life experiences are significant and that sharing those experiences and discovering other people's can be fascinating and fun. "We know that a spirit of wonder, curiosity and fun is the fastest way to facilitate learning. So, our ruler design had to be a bit chaotic if young people were to consider Being Australian interesting and relevant to them." Being Australian was created to promote a feeling a connectedness and belonging among people using social networking techniques involving their stories published on the Internet at www.beingaustralian.com.au. The ruler product is the first of a suite of learning accessories being custom-designed for young Australians. It is now available to parents and teachers through Being Australian's online store in quantities of 10, 20 and 50 individual rulers per order.
