Has it always been your dream to become a real cowboy or cowgirl? Now you can make that dream come true at Leconfield, the Jackaroo and Jillaroo School near Tamworth, NSW.
Contact: Tim Skerrettleconfield@eldersnet.com.au
Leconfield is a 6000 acre working property with cattle, sheep and horses. Leconfield runs five-day courses which teach you everything about life on a typical Australian farm. The courses start on Monday mornings when we pick you up from Tamworth. During the first two days you will learn how to saddle and ride a horse, shoeing, whip cracking and lassoing. Also mustering sheep and shearing are on the program. Over the next three days we introduce you to Natural Horsemanship, fencing or yard building, training working dogs, mustering cattle, marking and branding calves. It is not all hard work: swimming the horses and games on horseback are part of the course. Whether you are an experienced rider or a beginner at Leconfield you will always find a horse that suits you. At the end of the course you receive a reference and we also help those looking for work find a job. Experience sitting around a roaring campfire underneath a brilliant Australian sky where you can sleep out under the stars. Coming to Leconfield is an experience of a lifetime and one not to be missed!
