Dining IN an experience of the outback I was with a group from the Vincent Fairfax Fellowship touring through the Nitmiluk National Park near Darwin a couple of years ago. It was middle of the summer wet season. The sky is like a fire hose in the afternoons. One afternoon we dropped our packs for dinner near a creek. A storm had passed over and dumped a whole heap of rain over the area. The hot sunbaked ground quickly turned the creek we were next to into a flowing jacuzzi. It was fantastic - the creek just begged to be sat in. So we did - complete with dinner. Hiking all day was tiring. So a siesta IN the warm flowing water was just too good a deal to pass up.
